This is me.... Welcome to my new blog.
I decided to call it 79 hobbies, because if you already know me you'll know that I've had blogs before, it's something I enjoy doing, but that I often stop because my interests come and go in waves.
I am always busy doing something.... Starting a new project, picking up an old one... Usually not the thing I'm supposed to be doing (I'm looking at you PhD).
So, instead of my usual trick of starting a blog with just one focus I thought I'd do something that focusses more on my life overall and talks about everything I do rather than just focussing on one thing.
So... If you decide to stick around, what will you be able to hear about?
Well....
- Probably my PhD, I'm about to start the final stint.
- Books. Actually the reason I wanted to start a new blog - I'm in a reading phase right now
- Hockey. That's field hockey for the international reader. I just changed clubs before the most recent covid lockdown hit so I'm sure there'll be plenty to talk about there!
- Volunteering. The focus of some of my previous blogs, it's been on hold a bit because of covid but I love doing it. It'll be back
- Sock creatures. My covid hobby
- Family history/genealogy. I attempted a blog on this before buit it's impossible to do enough quick enough to keep up blogging momentum. This has been on hold, pretty much for the duration of my PhD.
- Horse Riding. I have to introduce you to the equines in my lifee at some point.
- Travel. Ideally combining some of the above.
- Music. "Is my first love and it'll be my last". How I've missed live music this year!
- Hiking. I'm really enjoying exploring the local area at the moment.
There's probably more to add, but those are the ones off the top of my head. Even as I'm writing the end of this post I'm still adding more to the list!
I'm hoping to write something about something most weeks. I look forwrad to having you along ofr the journey!
